Core Concepts Level II
Participants must complete Core Concepts Level I to be eligible to register for this program.
The 30-hour Level 2 program is designed to meet hospice palliative care educational needs of volunteers, homemakers and personal support workers. In addition, the course will be helpful to any healthcare provider exposed to hospice palliative care.

Complex Issues In Palliative Care

This 30 hour program for RN’s, RPN’s and allied health professionals takes a comprehensive look at problems faced
Location: Auditorium, St Mary’s Immaculate Church 10295 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill
Time: ALL DAY 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m

by patients and families at the end of life. Based on the CHPCA Standards of practice, it addresses team approach to pain and symptom management, psychosocial issues, disease process and treatments, and spiritual/ ethical issues.

Clinical Practice In Palliative Care

The program reflects an academic approach in preparation for the hospice palliative care nursing certification examination (through the Canadian Nurses Association). The case study based format will address issues through an holistic approach to care, and has been designed to advance the registered nurse’s knowledge in the specialty of hospice palliative care.
